We’re putting the spotlight on the gear havens that inspire us—boutique shops that make our cities hum and keep the scene thriving one rare find at a time.
Caveman Vintage Music is our first collaboration. A gem of Los Angeles located in Lincoln Heights and packed wall-to-wall with vintage finds and distinctive custom pieces. From your 60s Vox Grand Prix to vintage Guyatone amps and Crumar synths, Caveman contains quite honestly an overwhelming display of crave-worthy pieces. Upon recently expanding their store with a vast vinyl collection, their customer base has grown from gear aficionados to frothing crate diggers.
Caveman is the brainchild of Eric Stollsteimer, a Michigan native who’s been in the gear game since high school when he started out dusting pianos for extra cash. Eric opened his first store at 21, crashing in the stock room, showering with a garden hose, and living off ramen till things took off. From the sound of Eric’s retelling, it was a gearhead’s dream and nightmare all wrapped into a hazy few years of building it from the ground up. Then what, you ask? Well, it was time to make the big move of course…Hollywood!
After gaining experience running the Vintage Showroom at the legendary Sunset Blvd Guitar Center location, he went independent again—opening Caveman Vintage Music in 2011. Almost 15 years later, Eric is the trusted source for boutique gear in Los Angeles. A hub for creatives and obsessives alike, we couldn’t be more stoked to have Caveman as one of the first shop partners with Resyn.
If you’re in LA, head into Caveman. And if you aren’t Los Angeles based, it’s very worth a pilgrimage. Have a scroll through our feed in the meantime to satiate those cravings and stay tuned for other select shop features coming soon.
